The sermon this week at The Porch was a good one so I thought I would share it with you, in case you're interested or in need of a little reality check/motivational moment.
The pastor shared 7 things. Quick and easy but worth your time and attention.
1. Don't let your preferences rob you of paradise.
Life is not about just doing what you want.
2. Check your playground and your playmates.
Where do you spend your time and what kind of people do you associate with?
3. Pay close attention to what you pay attention to.
What are you focused on? What consumes you? What do you spend the most time thinking about?
4. Don't follow your heart, inform your heart.
You must tell your heart what to look for and what to look out for.
5. Who do you belong to?
You are a child of God. The King of Kings created you and loves you more than you can imagine.
6. If dependence is the goal, weakness is the advantage.
I'm going to share a bit of a personal note on this one. I've realized that all these years that I've lived alone, done life alone, made it happen on my own, those years and the heartbreaks have made me incredibly independent. I have a very strong attitude. One that's a bit "I don't need you, I can do this on my own." I refuse to let myself depend on anyone and I sometimes pity those that must live that type of life. It's incredibly rewarding to do it all on your own. Prove your power. It's also hard as he**. Don't be weak. You can do anything with the Lord on your side. Blaze your own trail and roar.
7. Your behavior follows your beliefs.
Actions speak louder than words.
