Free People and Anthropologie are owned by the same company. Before this winter I would say that I was more of an Anthropologie girl. Free People can be a little too bohemian for me (think crop tops and sheer dresses haha). Anthropologie is less festival. I just realized that I’ve featured more Free People on the blog lately than Anthro. They have great sweaters, scarves, jackets, shoes, and beanies. Maybe the tides are turning and I’m becoming one of those festival types haha.
This sky scraper sweater is different than anything in my closet. It’s too cold right now to wear it without anything underneath, which is why I’ll be pairing it with my new long sleeve crop top. Once it warms up a bit I’ll show you how to style it without the long sleeves underneath. You could wear it with jeans but I was feeling sassy and wanted to wear it with my Marc Jacobs purple pants. Hope y’all have a great week!
I just listened to the following message on Pride:
Something I struggle with. I used to never take notes during sermons, and what's worse is that I would secretly judge those who did (she's such an over achiever/she's just doing that to look good). Now I sit here on a Sunday morning listening to a message on Pride and taking notes to share with you. Oh the Lord...and the ways that he works. God is good.
Today's post has some big ticket items. Hey, a girl can dream. I hear about this hot item all the time here in Dallas:
How cool and crazy is this dress!?
I was waiting for this velvet jacket to go on sale at Neiman Marcus, but it sold out before I could order one for myself.
I know this is basic, but I'm looking for a black scarf. I'm loving all of these:
Every morning when I get ready for work I always seem to reach for the most cozy outfit possible. The same thing is true on the weekend. This is the only Patagonia piece I own but boy do I love it! The color that I’m wearing is called Rose Water. If you click on the first picture below, you can see what other colors are available. I’m wearing a Small for reference. If this look isn’t your style, check out some of the other pullovers pictured and linked below. Y’all stay warm! I hope you have a great week!

This is one of those game changers y’all. Don’t ask me how it works. Just thank the Lord that it does. Let me know if you try it!!
Hey y’all! I just got home from work and I’m watching the end of the Bama game from last night. Gosh, such a great game!! I love football. Here are a few other things I love this week:
1. I’ve had my eye on this shirt for work for months and months. It’s finally on sale. I need to find out if they have it it store here in Dallas to figure out what size would be best. Work shirts can look a little stuffy, but this one is so cute!
2. I don’t need another red dress, but they always seem to catch my eye. Just in case you need a classic red wrap dress, take a look at this one .
3. It’s a great time of year to buy a nice coat. They’re starting to go on sale. If you’re lucky, they might still have your size available. This camel coat is perfect!
4. I had a pair of turquoise sandals back in college and wore them with everything!! When I saw them at Dillard’s I knew that the color was too pretty to pass up. Turns out that they matched with most of my stuff. I really love the color of these .
Hey ya'll! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm bundled up inside, watching the NFL playoffs. I love this time of year. Good weather, good games, and good times with family and friends.
I apologize for the time off. It's nice to take a break from the constant posting, liking, and commenting way of life. It's easy to get wrapped up in the world of Instagram and social media. I took some time off to focus on things that matter most to me. I promise to get back to my Monday, Wednesday, Friday posts starting this week.
For those of you who followed along last year, I want to say thank you. I hope you continue to follow along on this fashion journey of mine, one outfit at a time.
I live in sweat pants, nike tops, and sneakers. I don't play sports anymore, and haven't for some time...but there's still a part of me that loves to feel athletic. I just feel cool when I have more of an athletic look on. I got several new pieces for Christmas and can't wait to show you how I style them!
You have to have a few Nike tops. Colors like black, white, and navy. So you can easily mix and match with your other athletic pieces. Shop some of my favorite tops using the links below:
Sweatpants, oh how I love thee. Very few things in life are better than getting home after a long day at work and changing into some comfy clothes (pants that aren't tight!). I like to get athletic pants that still look nice. That way I can run errands in them and I won't look like a lazy lady.
And last but not least...a fresh pair of kicks : ) Right now I have two pairs of sneakers. One pair was given to me for Christmas this year, and the other pair I got two summers ago. Shop some of my favorites below:
