I purchased these suede leggings early last fall. I was tired of pants that couldn’t be categorized as sweatpants (warm and comfy). These leggings were top rated on the retailer’s website so I decided to give them a try.
Fast forward a few months to when I wore these leggings in Nashville. They were an important part of my travel look (Texas to Tennessee) because these pants are by far the most comfortable out of the 3 pairs I brought with me. If I have to sit for hours at the airport and then a few more hours on a plane, my pants better not be digging into my stomach.
They’ve been restocked since I bought mine, so most sizes are available. When I purchased mine, the reviews suggested they run small. I ordered one size up from my usual size 28 and I'm glad they did. I think the 28s would have been too tight.
I was hoping I would find a ranch when I was in Nashville. Not to buy. I would rather one just magically land in my lap. A gift I guess. What do you do when searching for land? You dress the part. Here's what I wore:
I found this exact denim jacket for less/more available sizes : here.
If you already have a denim jacket you adore, I found a similar style in green: here.
Hey ya'll! I wanted to share all the details from my trip to Nashville in case you're planning on going, or if you've been on the fence about whether or not it's worth seeing. I'll be sharing where I stayed, what restaurants I picked, where to listen to live music, and where to shop.
Where I stayed: Guest Suite
This was my first time staying in an AirBnB. I held off for so long because I'm a skeptic. I just wasn't so sure about staying in someone else's home. A stranger's house. Somehow that just doesn't seem like a normal thing to do. The AirBnB I picked is a Guest Suite, which means it's a completely different house than the main house on the property. A guest house. You have it all to yourself. The location was perfect! I wanted to be no more than 10 minutes away from all of the cool spots in town. This place is much bigger than a hotel room. Heck, this place makes my apartment look like a shoebox. I couldn't get over how much room there was! Every little thing was taken care of, and thought out. Anything I could possibly need during my stay was available without me even having to ask. There's no doubt in my mind that I will stay here again next time I visit Nashville. It was affordable and exceeded my expectations.
Where I ate: Pharmacy , Martin's , Biscuit Love , Five Points Pizza
With so many restaurants to choose from it was hard to narrow down our list. I started the list by looking online at reviews and seeing which places are most popular/well known. According to visitors like myself as well as the folks that live there full time. Each place was oh so yummy! I ate way more than normal, but when in Rome ya know? None of these places accept reservations, but for Pharmacy there's an app called NoWait that you can download. After you download the app you can get on the waiting list for a table (we did this when we were driving to the restaurant). Once we got there it was only a two minute wait to be seated.
Live Music: Tin Roof
We went to several places to listen to live music. That's what we spent most of our time doing. That's why you move to Nashville right? For the music. This place was clean, it wasn't cramped, and the singers were all so good. Drinks were reasonably priced, chairs were comfortable (and there were plenty of them). It didn't smell like smoke. It wasn't freezing inside or uncomfortably warm. I was very impressed.
Shopping: Tribe Kelley
If you follow this blog and are up to date on all of my posts, you already know that there was only one store in all of Nashville that I wanted to see, Tribe Kelley. If you're ever in Nashville take the time to stop by. It's such a cool spot.
Have you been to Nashville? Do you live there, or have family in Nashville? I would love to know! Message me on Instagram or email me any time! I love getting to know all of you and catching up with those that aren't here in Dallas.
The whole time I wore this outfit I felt like I could be going one of two places : Austin or Nashville. Two places I adore.
Do you have a favorite coat? I’ve been watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and can’t get over how many coats she has. I don’t think this one is quite her style, but I do think her character would appreciate its boldness.
I didn’t have many things on my must see list, but there was one store that I just had to see in person: the Tribe Kelley Trading Post.
I was not leaving Nashville until I saw this place in person. Of course you can shop, browse, and buy almost all of their apparel online. Which I do, I just wanted to see it all in person. I wanted to learn more about sizing. I wanted to be able to feel the different fabrics. I wanted to see with my own eyes how this idea turned into an amazing business. Y’all, it did not disappoint. If you don't know much about Tribe Kelley, I encourage you to look it up. Their mission and the way they run their business.
We got there at 10:30 right when they opened. The second customer who walked in that morning was all the way from Wisconsin! She too has several pieces already but wanted to add to her collection. I looked at everything in that store. The jackets, the jeans, the sweatshirts, and the famous traveler bra. I think I tried about 10 items. I wanted to buy them all but had to narrow it down.
Here’s what I purchased:
Tribe Jacket in Green
Cruze Sweatpants in Army Tan
There’s a jacket I’m going to get, once it goes on sale. You can see a picture of it here. It’s incredibly soft and cozy inside yet edgy looking on the exterior. That will be my next Tribe Kelley purchase.
I have so many stores that I love, but there is just one that inspires me. Tribe Kelley.
I figured out how to fit everything in just one suitcase. Here’s how: don’t feel like you have to take every single pair of shoes in that closet of yours. It’s tempting but shoes take up a lot of room. I wore these boots the whole time I was in Nashville. I wore these boots to the bar and to the cute little brunch spot selling biscuits and sweet tea. They went with every single outfit. Morning, noon, and night. They’re nice boots and they will last a long time as long as you take care of them.
I wore this outfit last Friday to work and then for dinner that night. To make it date night worthy I added a teal hat and a pair of gold earrings.
Anthropologie is usually my first thought when someone asks me about dresses. A close second place goes to ASOS. The trouble with ASOS is the large amount of items listed online. It can take you hours to scroll through every item, even after you filter for your size and price range. If you're willing to put in some time for the search, ASOS has some hidden gems.
If you don’t have time, and are looking for a great deal be sure you click through the options linked below using the arrow to the right of the photos. I've taken the time to search, and dig, and scroll (and scroll and scroll and scroll) to find great deals. My favorite might be this Club Monaco look alike that was available at Neiman Marcus last fall.
