I apologize for the overload of shoe posts, but summertime in Texas is no joke and shoes to handle this heat (or the beach) are needed. Most of my new summer shoes are on sale. These black and white slides have been marked down to $19.99!! I know. Victory dance worthy. They're also available in blue and white.
My converse that I got three years ago had seen better days and just didn't look that great anymore. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a pair that I liked as much. Then these Keds came along. They're so cute and give you a bit of height. Use the link below to shop my shoes.
Aren't these shoes amazing!? I ordered them on sale from Shopbop, which was quite the process. I bought a top for a date at the beginning of the year and hated it. One of those looks cool online but terrible on me type of things. By the time I returned it, I coudnt get a refund so they gave me a gift card. Fast forward 4 orders (that all turned out to be less than perfect) before these Kate Spade shoes showed up one sale and in my size. Love at first sight. They're still available at 3 retailers and come in two other colors! Use the links below to see if they still have your size.
I'm going to a concert tomorrow night and need a cute picnic blanket to bring. I'm not outdoorsy so until today I had no idea how many cute options there are for people who like this sort of thing. If I'm going to be outside in the summertime in Texas, I might as well have a cute picnic blanket in tow. Shop some of my favs below:
I can count on one hand the number of vintage pieces that I own. Im no expert when it comes to vintage clothing and I'm not claiming to know it all. I just thought I would share my process of finding this vintage dress in case any of you are interested in finding a few unique pieces of your own.
I am a huge fan of Nasty Gal and love that the site started out as an Ebay shop. Just one girl selling one of a kind pieces. I watched Girl Boss the other weekend and learned even more about the company and the evolution of the brand. So interesting! If you have some time this weekend and need a new show, check it out.
Sometimes the thought of second hand clothing creeps me out. Who doesn't like a brand new pair of shoes or a shiny new pair of earrings? Never been worn. All yours. Brand spankin new. Then again, five girls at the office probably have that same JCrew top as you. There are drawbacks to both vintage pieces and new clothes. You just have to decide what's most important to you/what bothers you the least. Showing up in the same outfit as someone else or the thought that someone else owned that piece before you.
I went shopping with one of my friends here in Dallas to find a few vintage pieces. There was a seller who had a ton of little house on the prairie looking dresses. For some reason I liked them. Super cutesy, ribbons, ruffles, and bows. As girly as can be. I tried on this red dress and one other before I decided to go with the red one. I also found another tribal print dress from another seller, and will post pics of that one as well. The sizing was tricky. It's hit or miss. You find a gorgeous piece but because there is only one available you just have to hope that it fits. I guess you could get it altered if you were that in love but I was trying to find unique pieces that wouldn't break the bank. I look forward to trying again and looking for a few more vintage pieces. The problem is my friend moved to Houston : ( I'll just have to convince her to come back. For the sake of shopping. Hope y'all have a good weeekend!

The 4th of July is just around the corner which means I need to figure out what to wear. I always plans these things at least one month in advance. I'm still on the lookout for a cute bag and maybe a few accessories, but this is what I've found so far:
If you click on any of the four images pictured above, you will be redirected to the retailer's site and can shop instantly.
I've been trying to incorporate color into my wardrobe. I noticed that most of my summer tops are either black or baby blue. I spotted this magenta top at Macys when I was shopping with my Mom for Mother's Day. This was the only color they carried in store. I later learned that this top is available online in white, black, blue, yellow, and pink. I paired it with my wide leg black pants from Ann Taylor. These pants are high waisted and they are not skinny jeans (can I get a hallelujah?). I'm so happy to have another style to choose from other than skinny or boyfriend cut pants. It's nice to have an option when you don't feel like wearing skin tight bottoms but still need to look more polished than the boyfriend cut can provide. These pants are also available in white (perfect for summer!) and dark green.

Oh ASOS how I love thee. The dresses from ASOS are amazing. The great thing about ASOS is that their selection seems to be never ending. There are sooo many items to pick from. I love that. I spotted this yellow dress and kept an eye on it until it went on sale and my size was restocked. I thought about pairing it with my new keds but decided last minute to go with my tan Ann Taylor sandals. A few inches of height never hurt anybody. My new Sweet Annie Design earrings match perfectly (thanks again Madlyn, you're the best!). Listed below are a few other dresses that I have an eye on. Hope y'all have a good weekend : )
Swimsuit shopping can be daunting. I've been looking for a swimsuit for the summer for a few weeks now. I found this fun Friday one piece online. How cute is it? I don't smile too often when I'm shopping for swimsuits (the sizing on these things HAS to be wrong...and don't even get me started on the lighting in the dressing rooms!) but this one made me smile. Which meant I had to have it. Use the links below to shop this particular item and a few other pieces that made the what I want list this week. Good luck with your swimsuit search! (Image via Jcrew)
