It's officially fall here in Texas but it doesn't really feel like fall. I wear blazers quite a bit for work and just about died the other day walking to the car in this heat. I feel silly wearing sandals when it's almost October, so I've been wearing closed toe shoes. I know it's not cold enough to wear a coat but it is time for boots. Time to wear boots and time to buy boots. The best boots always fly off the shelves so you have to act fast. If you go with an over the knee black boot, you're guaranteed to get more than a few years out of them. Take good care of them and they'll last even longer.
I thought they would look amazzzing with my white denim shorts. I always see singers on stage with looks like this. OTK boots and shorts or a bodysuit. They always have that I can do anything attitude. I didn't completely feel like Beyoncé when I was wearing this outfit, but I must admit that her "I ain't thinkin' bout you" line did come to mind. Fun fact: I watch a lot of reality tv. One of the shows that I watch season after season is Southern Charm. There's a new cast member on the show, Naomi. Her style is just about flawless, and she's as beautiful as can be. She's one of those girls that looks good in everything. I'm such a fan of the show that I follow her on Instagram.
Sometime this summer she posted a picture of Brynn Hudson hot pink earrings. I tried to buy them online but they sold out before I could complete my purchase. Once I realized that the hot pink earrings were sold out, I started to shop around. It didn't take long for me to realize that every Brynn Hudson design is just as bold as those hot pink earrings. I immediately fell in love with the light pink Infinity Pearl earrings that are pictured above. Aren't they the best!?
There are so many pretty pieces to pick from on the Brynn Hudson website linked above. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets. I'm sure there's something for everybody. I'm a fan of a good statement earring, but she also has smaller pieces for sale if you want to go for a more day to day look.

When I first moved to Dallas everyone asked me the same question..."so are you dating anyone?" No one wondered about my job, my new roommate. They only wanted to know who I was dating. I didn't mind because it kind of made me feel like T Swift lol. I told everyone the same thing when they asked. My response was always "I'm still trying to find the right salon. I haven't had time to think about guys."
Luckily I found ERA. It is the most beautiful salon I've ever been in. Everything is shiny and bright and the girls who work there always make me feel welcome. Darlene is the one who cuts and styles my hair. Thank the Lord for her. She is amazing!! She also does makeup for special occasions. I'm so happy that I found her. If you're looking to get your hair fixed or your makeup done for a special occasion, she is the one to go to in Dallas. She's so sweet and I promise that you'll leave ERA feeling brand new : )
Texas A&M is playing Arkansas this weekend in Dallas. My Mom is going to the game with me and I'm so excited to see her! I've been planning my gameday outfit for months. I'm not going to share what I'm wearing to the game just yet, but I will share my favorite gameday looks that almost made the cut for this week's game. Maroon is so hard to find sometimes, so I hope this helps all my fellow gorgeous Aggie girls!
When I was in high school there was a straightener that the cool girls had. I must have gotten mine for Christmas or a birthday. I've been using that same brand since then. I have never purchased, or used, a straightener from another line. I'm sure that there are other great brands out there, but why look around just for the fun of it? Their products last at least three years. I try to replace mine every 3 -4 years because I use it so often. I've never been able to blow dry my hair and style it with one of those round brushes like they do at the salon, so I've had to rely on my CHI for a long long time. The one linked below is the exact straightener that I currently own and use most days. This is the first one that I've had that allows you to set the temperature based on your hair type. It heats up quickly and does the job. In high school one of my friends told me that using a straightener will ruin your hair. I had this fear for the longest time that I was going to wake up one day and my hair was going to be terribly damaged. Such a silly fear, I know, but I've found that if you use good products on your hair (shampoo, conditioner, heat guard) it makes a big difference. If you're looking for a new straightener and you're not sure which one to get, try the one linked below. I hope you like it as much as me : )
I have this trick if I'm not sure what to wear. Wear one color and one color only. White shirt, white pants, white shoes. Done, and out the door. Some of my favorite outfits aren't overly thought out. All white felt right that day. Next look that I'm planning is all pink. Stay tuned.

I'm having one of those moments where I wish I wasn't a size 7 in shoes. 7s always seem to be the first to go. These Stuart Weitzman sandals are on major sale and as long as you're not a size 7, these babies can be yours. I've been watching them online for weeks hoping that they'll restock my size. I can't get them, so would someone else please go ahead and I'll just live my Cinderella shoe dream through you. They're called the SimpleMid on the Stuart Weitzman website linked below:
When slip dresses first started to show up in store I wasn't on board. The silk material is soft but it shows everything. Lines, imperfections, nothing great. I was reminded of jersey dresses that seem to cling to all the wrong places. Because of that, I stayed away from them for a couple of years. One weekend I was picking up something at Neiman Marcus and saw this black and white slip dress on the sale rack. It was marked down to maybe $30 so I thought I should at least give it a try. I wore it that same weekend with my keds and a small cross body purse to keep it casual (I wanted to offset the lace/silk/nightgown look as much as I could). I'm hoping to find a maroon silk cami to wear over the white tee for fall. Let me know if you see one anywhere! Shop some of my favorite slip dresses using the links above.
I got this mint green top shopping in Houston with a new friend of mine. What better way to get to know someone than shopping with them? Ann Taylor was having a great deal on sale items. Extra 40% off the sale price! Last time I looked, this shirt was even more on sale than when I got it! Bad news for me (whomp whomp) but great news for you. I paired it with jeans and silver slides to go visit my grandma the other weekend. She recently moved from her house to the nursing home. She's my best friend. I wish she could come live with me. She always laughs at my stories. She liked my outfit. If it got the stamp of approval from her, you know it's a good one.
