FRYE shoes on sale for $69 (originally $157).
I get it from Gram. We love shoes : ) These babies should be here sometime next week. I’ll share them with you on my Instagram stories once they arrive.
Good morning and happy Friday! I'm at my Mom and Dad's place in Austin with a vanilla latte in hand. My trusty little sidekick (Ike) went hunting so I'm on my own with this blog post. Hopefully it will be just as good as the previous post. It's hard to compete with a puppy picture. I'll do my best for you guys.
There are so many sales and great deals right now. I never want you to miss out on anything, but I also don't want to overwhelm anyone. Because of that, here's my strategy: I'm only going to share the things that I purchased. Things that I think are worth buying instead of sharing a never ending "this is what I would buy from these 20 stores" list. There are plenty of ladies out there doing that. This is just an insight on the things that I purchased for myself, for my Mom, my Dad, and anyone on my Christmas list.
I'm going to group the items by retailer, starting with the lowest prices and working my way up. The first retailer is Old Navy.
I'm so happy that all of these items are back in stock AND they're all 50% off today. When my Old Navy items arrived in the mail a few of the jackets had sold out. Lucky for you, they're back!
I wore this burgundy coat yesterday to the ranch and got so many compliments. Of course I told everyone that it's from Old Navy and that they can get it for half off. It runs a little small, so order one size up. I'm wearing a size medium.
I wore my new vest around town on Wednesday running errands. I had a Duke basketball long sleeve tee underneath. It's an easy layer to add when you're running out the door. Today's it's on sale for $14.
I bought these little emerald pom pom slippers for my Mom. They were supposed to be a stocking stuffer but I couldn't wait. I gave them to her earlier this week. Ike thinks they're a toy, the little fuzzy ball on top drives him nuts. We're having to train him to not chew Mom's new slippers. He seems confused about it. If you have a puppy, be careful with these. Your puppy will like them just as much as you! They're on sale today for $7.
I don't have too many long sleeve shirts, so I bought this lace up shirt (size Medium). It's on sale right now for $14. I already wore it on casual Friday at the office, paired with dark wash jeans and my white sneakers.
I'm always losing my socks. I try to wear cozy socks on the weekend around the house. They keep me warm and give me an extra day or so before I have to do laundry. Anything to get out of washing clothes! These Christmas socks will make you smile and so will the price (on sale for $2).
How many scarves do you have? I have 4. Red, pink, black, and now white. This infinity scarf from Old Navy is on sale for $8. It's different than my other scarves and matches with everything. A good addition if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for such a seasonal specific item.
Last item in the Old Navy group, this pajama shirt. I always sleep in t-shirts. I wanted to add a little holiday cheer to my collection. I have a size Medium. There's nothing worse than sleeping in something tight. This soft shirt is perfect and will make for cute Christmas morning pics.
This next group is for the guys. These are the items that I ordered for my Dad:
This coat was inspired by a Tom Brady post on Instagram. After the Packers/Patriots game Tom was wearing a black coat similar to this one. In my book, Tom Brady can do no wrong. I wanted to get Dad a coat like Tom Brady. My Dad has all sorts of jackets and coats for hunting, but you know how guys are. His street style coat closet could use a thing or two. I went with the green coat.
These corduroy pants are 50% off. With six colors to choose from, there has to be a color in there you would want the guys in your life to sport this winter. They look so sharp. Dad has the emerald green and navy pair.
This pullover is 40% today, and under $50. Not bad for Polo. Dad has the ivory pullover.
This next group of items are all from Anthropologie . Everything is 30% off.
This cowl neck pullover was an early Christmas gift. It's top rated and did not disappoint. It looks like the sizes are going pretty quickly this morning. I wouldn't wait on this one if you like it. There are eight colors to choose from, and it runs true to size.
This was my main coat on our trip to Vail. The two ladies in Highland Park working the dressing room helped me choose between two sizes. I ended up getting a size Small. It too is top rated, and is SO warm! It's reversible, which gives you more options and looks to play around with.
I think almost all of my Anthro items are top rated. This Alaskan pullover has been a hit lately. It was part of my airport look on Sunday. I just ordered another one as a hostess gift. This item runs large. The size small fits both me and my Mom.
This dress was on the Found and Gathered rack in Austin last weekend. Which means that they only have one size in store. The size was an extra small. I tried to fit my hips in that XS only because the color is amazing! Such a perfect party dress (I want to wear it on NYE). The XS zipped (how I dont know) but I would feel more confident wearing a size Small. They're sold out right now online, but I'm going to keep checking back because I'm determined to twirl the night away and count down to 2019 in this dress.
I've been searching for a scarf that would match my new Tory Burch coat. This oversized colorful scarf fit the bill, so I ordered it earlier this morning.
This last item of the day is by far the best deal.
These boots of mine were purchased last year. Tory Burch made them again this season, and added another color option. I have the gray pair. They make your legs look like they're milessss long! Very flattering. Originally $600, you can get them for $200 online with the code: Thanks. I wish they had them in black. I'm still searching for a pair of black booties or black over the knee boots with a one inch heel. That's what I'll be doing for the rest of the day. Well, that and watching the Duke basketball Earn Everything series on ESPNplus.
Ike agreed to be in my outfit of the day pic. I can’t say he was thrilled about it. He’s getting so big and heavy! It’s hard to hold him for more than a minute or two.
My vest is on sale for $14.99 no code needed. I purchased the lilac color, but it’s also available in eight other colors. My second favorite would be white. With a deal this good I’m tempted to order the white tonight.
I hope your Thanksgiving week is off to a wonderful start. I’ll be sharing deals all week so please be sure to check back often (both on the blog and on my Instagram page @sometime_saturday). I will ONLY be sharing items that I myself have purchased. Thank you for following along. It means more than you know!
I purchased this coat last year from Free People. It’s an ivory shade that feels like you’re wrapped up in your favorite blanket. It looks like a lot of retailers have a similar coat available this year. Because mine is from Free People, I wanted to share their brand exclusively for this particular post.
Here are my top picks:
This red top has been in my closet for years. I found it at the Anthropologie in Houston back when I lived in old Htown. They brought it back, and this time it's available in red, blue, and yellow.
Club Monaco just surprised us with an early Thanksgiving sale and is offering an extra 30% off of sale prices. Because Club Monaco prices are always steep, I wait for sales this like to stock up on wardrobe staples. A classic camel coat, a good pair of corduroy pants, and a sweater in gray white or black.
I purchased these pants last year in black and wear them at least once a week in the winter. They're also available in navy and crimson (shown below).
I've had my eye on these houndstooth corduroys waiting for them to go on sale. These can easily be paired with the boots and booties that you already have.
These khakis are so chic. They just kicked my current khakis to the curb.
This maroon sweater is the same one I ordered from Neiman Marcus when they were having a 30% off promotion. Get it here for an even better deal!
This week’s What I Want Wednesday post is dedicated to one particular brand. The brand that I admired from afar and eventually up close in the recent years, Tory Burch.
When I was in college a lot of girls had Tory Burch flats or boots. I didn’t, but that was ok because I knew that one day I would have enough to buy a pair of Tory Burch shoes on my own. Fast forward a little, past college and grad school. There I am working as an auditor for one of the Big 4 and I needed a pair of shoes for work. I took the plunge and bought a pair of camel suede flats at the Tory Burch store in the Houston Galleria.
I wore those shoes for years and years. I was so proud of them, mostly because I got them all on my own. I might not have had them earlier in life, but I definitely don’t take nice things for granted. It’s a good lesson. One I’m happy to have learned.
This weekend we had family in town for a wedding, and I got to see some family members of mine who I adore. Kim and Vince invited me to brunch on Sunday. Without even looking at my calendar I said of course! I later realized that I already had a Kappa brunch and event scheduled for that same day. My schedule is either crazy or completely clear. I was able to make it to both brunches. I'm so glad I didn't have to miss out on anything. Here's what I wore:
I finally found the right kind of lights for my tree. I never knew there were so many options! Warm white, cool white, or clear. I like to look at the lights in person. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what they’ll look like when you only have a tiny picture to go off of.
I looked for lights online at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Home Depot. Home Depot’s website was the easiet to use, so I ended up going with them. The lights I bought are only $2 a box! Most of the lights were priced around 7 or $8 a box. I didn’t want warm lights because they look a little too yellow, and I didn’t want cool white lights because they look a little too blue. I bought clear white and was wondering what in the world they would look like. I picked up my order yesterday, got home, opened a box and plugged a string of lights in. They’re so pretty!! I’ll link them below in case you’re looking for a great deal on lights.
Home Depot will certainly ship your lights, but they also have a buy online and pick up in store option.
