As you can tell, I wear a lot of black and white. I think it has something to do with work. You can't really wear hot pink or neon orange in a corporate setting and be taken seriously. Most of my wardrobe consists of black, white, and red. My three favorite colors when it comes to clothes. This black and white Sanctuary vest is a favorite of mine. I knew it would work well with my black boots, and could be worn with many items I already own. It's currently on sale (half price!!), and again is an item that won't be out of style two weeks from now. I like to invest in jackets/coats that can be worn for several seasons. There's no need to spend a fortune on a trend that will be gone tomorrow. B&W is always in. Happy shopping : )
It feels like just the other day I was sitting around thinking about the new year (2016) and all the things I wanted to accomplish. I knew in my heart that 2016 would be a year full of faith. I took more leaps of faith than usual this year, and because of it I was able to meet so many amazing people. People who were there for me when they didn't have to be. The kind, caring, strong as can be Christians who are the kind of people everyone wants and needs in this life. 2016, with all of its adventure was of course challenging at times but I wouldn't change a thing. Cheers to 2017, chasing dreams, and relying on the Lord for what we need most.

I'm normally not a fan of dressing casually. I would much rather be over dressed than try to put together a casual look. I found this shirt when I was shopping with my Mom in Austin. It's one of those that will be in style for at least a few years, and since it's easy to mix and match I thought I would give it a try. My favorite thing to pair it with is a vintage tshirt. Of course you could wear the shirt by itself, buttoned up, but why waste time messing with the buttons when you could just add another layer. I would much rather take on my tshirt drawer than 7 or 8 buttons first thing in the morning. I'm embarrassed to admit how many times I've worn this shirt in the last two weeks. When I'm not sure what I want to wear, I find myself layering this on top of this and that. Vintage tshirts, white dresses, and a sweater that needs some edge. The best thing about this shirt is that it's on sale (almost half of the original price). Shop my look by clicking on the links below:
I got this dress for a bachelorette party. Because I don't go to those very often I had to figure out how to make this dress work for other events/situations. The sheer/sleeveless/criss cross elements of the dress obviously make it sexy. In order to tone that down I wear my converse and my hair pulled back. No heels, no beach wave hair styles allowed. I also like to wear my DVF white blouse over it. My favorite thing about this dress is the sheer bottom. Any dress that allows you to make an entrance, even when wearing sneakers, is gold. The weather in Dallas has been crazy lately. One day it's 80, the next day it's 25. It's a bit difficult trying to dress during the "winter" season when it's in the high 60s outside. I needed an outfit to wear to dinner Friday night. I knew that I couldn't wear any of my coats because I would be too hot. Thankfully I have a few sleeveless jackets that are long. They make your outfit look a bit more dressy than a regular jacket would. I paired my maroon jacket with my leather pants, black booties, and a navy long sleeve top. The jacket comes with a belt, but you're not able to see the pretty gold buttons on the jacket if you wear the belt. Find the links for each item below:
I have been obsessed with beanies lately. I think they're so fun to wear, especially the pom pom beanies. They're so cute and can give your outfit a boost out of boring-ville. I've tried to wear the more hipster type of beanies (you know the ones that sit on the back of your head) but I look like a fool. The bigger beanies are more my style, as opposed to the slouchy ones. I'm looking to add to my somewhat basic beanie collection. I've narrowed it down to the following four:
My eyelashes are blonde. You can barely see them without mascara. Therefore I love mascara like I love a good lipstick. Both products make SUCH a difference. Once I find an amazing product, I will use it until it’s discontinued. A few years ago (thanks to Leyla at Houston’s Neiman Marcus) I came across Armani’s Eyes to Kill. Before I discovered Eyes to Kill, I had been flip flopping between numerous high end brands not seeing any difference between them and the more affordable options. This is the one mascara that I can truly tell a difference between it and the drugstore brands. It’s about 3 times as much when it comes to price, but it lasts much longer than the Cover Girl, L’Oréal, Maybelline, or Rimmel options. Most of the time, the Armani counter at Neiman Marcus will have samples of this mascara. Which allows you to try it out before you buy it on your own. Oh and one more thing. You have to use a lot of it. At least 4 coats. I learned this year that I have been doing my mascara wrong all these years by only applying one coat on the top and bottom lashes. You have to apply it at least 4 times. It will take more time when you’re already in a rush trying to get ready, but it’s worth it. It looks so much better. I hope you like the product as much as I do. The name Eyes to Kill is spot on. Find the link below:
A good amount of Ted Baker London items have a bow on it. Need I say more? The bow and the pink collar of this top were enough to win me over. In the pic above, I paired the top with black leather pants and black booties for more of an edgy look. I've also worn this top with white pants, and a white skirt. I got this top (which is now 40% off!!) when the weather dipped down. Living in Texas, my long sleeve collection is always much smaller than my tank top count. I found it when I was in store. I had seen it several times online, but wasn't interested. It's hard to see the best part in the picture on the retailer's website. The tulle makes it a little edgy yet girly at the same time. I'm always looking for something that's a bit different. Most sizes have been restocked since Thanksgiving. Click on the images below to see if they still have your size left.
I purchased these silver shoes to wear with one of my white dresses. I just recently added the white and gold bows to dress them up a bit. I got the bows from Target, in the Christmas section of the store. I used heavy duty tape to attach the bows to the shoes. The tape allows me to easily remove the bows and mix and match depending on the outfit/occasion. The bows were fine in the cold windy weather over the weekend. The tape seemed to do the trick.
