I spent the weekend in Austin with my family. I’m always kind of sad on Sunday when I have to leave them. I tried to suggest that I take Ike (their beagle puppy) back to Dallas. Mom said she didn’t think Dad would like that plan. Since he wasn’t there when I left I decided to let Ike stay with them. He’s happy there. Dad wasn’t there when I left because he left the house before sunrise to go visit his Mom for Mother’s Day.
I have the best Mom. I know everybody thinks that their Mom is the best, but those other people are mistaken. Sometimes I forget how lucky we are to have her. Next thing ya know I’m standing in the greeting card section at CVS crying because all of the cards are so spot on. They remind me of everything she does, big and small, and how she loves in a way I never could. So I cry. At CVS. Just because I’m thankful and I don’t know what I would do without her.
This weekend we took pictures of one of my Gal Meets Glam collection dresses, the Lauren dress. It’s one of the most comfortable dresses that I have in my closet. I took this dress with me to DC and wore it shopping in Georgetown. It was cool that morning so I wore a pink blazer on top and my ivory Frye sneakers. This weekend the weather was warmer so I opted for tan block heel sandals. This dress also comes in a blue/green color combination (and is still available in all sizes). I’m going to keep an eye on these dresses to see if they go on sale. If they do I’ll let you know! It’s really a wonderful dress. The buttons, the V neckline, even the detail on the sleeves is so elegant. You’ll want this dress for summer.
