We took these pics on Sunday when it was raining off and on, which is why I look pissed off. Rain ruins my hair. Somehow it looks perfect in these pics, straight and shiny. Not sure how that happened, but thankful that it did. I am not the most outdoorsy person. Taking these pics for the blog has made me be a bit more flexible. Rain, heat, crazy wind. We've powered through all of them. It's much easier to look good indoors.
Enough about the rain. Anyone who knows me, knows that I change clothes the second that I walk in the door. I love love love to dress up and spend weeks planning an outfit/figuring out what to wear, but as soon as I walk in the door I want to be out of those clothes and into something athletic looking. Track pants, running shorts, leggings, tshirts, tanks, sweatshirts. I think it's because I don't want to wear anything fancy around the house. This habit of mine got me thinking. Why not pair some of my favorite pieces that I wear around the house with some of my more sophisticated items (J Crew Silver Brocade pants). I understand that a look like this can't be worn to work, but it can easily be worn anywhere you thought about wearing a sweatshirt with sweatpants. Adding an expensive item makes the look memorable, causing people to wonder where you got that from instead of judging you for leaving the house in sweats. I got this powder blue Denim & Supply sweatshirt over the holiday break. It's cropped which makes it less laid back looking. You don't want to try this trick with a sweatshirt that goes down past your hips. I haven't figured out how to make that one look socially acceptable. As soon as I do, you'll be the first to know. Until then, shop some of my favorite sweatshirts below. Hope ya'll had a good weekend!
