I’ve had this post on my to do list for quite a while. I think it’s important for you to know as much as you can about this little space of mine, SometimeSaturday.com.
The purpose of this fashion blog is to share the things that make me feel like my most confident self. Most of my blog posts contain links to the items I’m sharing or discussing that day. It’s the most efficient way for me to help you navigate straight to the items that I share. The links take you to a product page on a particular retailer’s website so you can view details. You’re able to see what sizes are still in stock, the colors that are still available, and most importantly...the price.
Most of you are at least somewhat familiar with the fashion blogging world. Therefore, you already know that when you purchase an item using one of my links I am paid a commission for that sale. I am not paid a commission in the following circumstance:
You see a pretty pair of shoes that I share on SometimeSaturday. You click on one of my links to see if your size is still available. They still have your size but you don’t really neeeed the shoes, so you wait a few weeks to think about it. Weeks later you decide you want to treat yourself. You open a browser and navigate directly to the Anthropologie website. Click on the “shoes” section and scroll through until you find that exact pair. You add them to your cart, checkout, and wait patiently for your package to arrive.
Even though you originally saw the shoes on SometimeSaturday, I will not get credit for that sale because you did not use my link the day you made your purchase.
It’s tough but it’s also not the end of the world. I care much more about the fact that you feel amazing when you wear those shoes out and about than I care about a lost commission. Money in my pocket has nothing to do with your self esteem and how pretty you feel getting ready in the morning. This is why I have never shared any of this with you before. It’s important but only to a certain extent.
Here’s how I analyze my sales each week:
I use that data to plan future content. If it looks like my readers aren’t interested in lounge wear, I’m most likely not going to share those types of items in the future (fuzzy socks, cozy sweatshirts). At least not very often. Again, I can only see items that were purchased if one of my links was used.
I also use that data to determine which items I need to continue to monitor (to see if/when those items go on sale). If many of the SometimeSaturday ladies are purchasing a particular product, I will monitor that product until it’s no longer available. Sharing sales and discount codes along the way. I want you to get the best deal you can. You know I love a good deal!
I’m not able to see who purchases what. That special someone in my
life could buy one of the “What I Want Wednesday” items (using my link) and I wouldn’t know he was one of the people who purchased that item until I open the gift.
I would love for you to use my links if you do end up making a purchase. If you forget or you don’t want to, well that’s ok too. I’m just happy that you’re here and you’re following along. What I care about is this: no matter what’s going on in your life on a particular day, you’re able to take on the world feeling great about yourself. You’re amazing, you’ve always been amazing. I’m just here to help remind you of that fact.
Thanks for reading! Thank you for liking my photos and commenting on them. Thank you for telling your friends and family about this little fashion blog of mine. It means more to me than you know!
