A few months ago I found a few gray hairs and freaked out. I think that’s both an honest and natural reaction. I may have said a few bad words, but I don’t wanna repeat those here. I decided to get some highlights. Something had to be done. Just a little color to hide the fact that I’m over here pushing 80.
One of the fashion bloggers that I follow (@jennifer_alyson on Instagram) has gorgeous hair. The color is amazing and she always has it styled in a way that’s picture perfect. I reached out to Jennifer to ask who does her hair. She gave me the name of her salon and the two ladies who are both responsible for her hair. The name of the salon is Form. I booked an appointment as soon as I could. Yesterday I lucked out and got a parking spot right out front (this is unheard of in Dallas). The salon was bright, busy, and buzzing. I checked in with the front desk and was given a drink. Shortly after, a lady named Jessiy introduced herself and took me back to her station. She listened carefully as I told her about the gray hairs and how I really wasn’t sure what I wanted. I told her I didn’t want anything drastic. I can’t walk into the office on Monday morning and scare anyone. I need everyone to still recognize me. I also told her I would love to come back in a few months and go even lighter, little by little. She showed me a ton of “after” photos to make sure we were on the same page. I think it took about an hr to apply everything, and then 30 minutes of sitting while it processed. 15 minutes without heat, and then 15 minutes with heat. After the 30 minutes, Jessiy washed it all out and then applied shampoo and conditioner. Jaclyn took over after that to dry and style my hair. She was so sweet. I made sure to get her business card for the next time I need a blowout.
This was taken moments before my hair appointment.
And this was taken right after. I love it!
Here's how you can recreate my salon look from yesterday:
