I finally made it to a pumpkin patch here in Dallas! It only took me two years...better late than never. The arboretum has a pumpkin village. Yes, a village. It’s a step above one of those places that simply puts the pumpkins on the ground all in a line. We’re talking structures made of pumpkins.
It rained for what felt like a week and then the clouds parted and the sun started to shine. The whole city of Dallas took advantage of the pretty weather and went to the Arboretum. So many kids! So many families! And then there was me. Waiting for the toddlers to step aside so I could get the shot. These kids had the poses down! One little girl even sat on a pumpkin without being told to do so. I looked over to Chris and said “man, she’s good! Look at that pose. I wonder if I could sit like that too?” I was too nervous to sit on a pumpkin. I didn’t want to get kicked out.
The crowds and a bit of craziness were worth it. I’m willing to make my way through crowds just to create my own traditions here in Dallas. I think I can officially add this one to the list.
I saw this on Reese Witherspoon’s Instagram and it made me laugh. The arboretum was fifteen bucks a ticket and it was fifteen dollars to park. We were way over $27 by the time we headed home.
